![]() It’s nice to have the focus be on the build versus the minifigures. Unlike most sets, the minifigures aren’t front and center with a special call out. Then the back shows some of the play features and things you can do with the different builds. The box highlights the main build on the front with the two other builds on the side. It’s one of those sets that I’ve added to my list of sets I would like to modify and add to some day. Brilliantly detailed castle set gives kids 3 cool build-and-play options in 1 to indulge in hours of imaginative play. I decided not to do that here as I really like the main version and wanted to keep it. 3 different daring adventures for castle fans. When #31109-1: Pirate ship came out, I reviewed all three versions ( here, here, and here). This is a win for all of the Castle fans out there. As a Creator 3in1 set, 31120 Medieval Castle contains instructions for building three different models: the eponymous Medieval Castle, a Castle Tower, or a Medieval Marketplace. You get 3 minifigures in the sub-theme and then a few shields with the logo. 31120 Medieval Castle is a Creator set that was released on August 2, 2021. The set is branded with the Black Falcon sub-theme from the original Castle line. That works out to $0.07 per piece which isn’t too bad. It contains 1,426 pieces and retails for $99.99. On 2 August 2021, #31120-1: Medieval Castle was released in the US. The Castle theme was recently seen in Ideas with #21325-1: Medieval Blacksmith which was released in February of 2021. The fan base keeps asking for them so LEGO seems to find ways to bring back the themes without a stand alone theme. The overview can be found here.The LEGO Group has made it clear that they don’t want to re-start old themes like Castle, Pirates, or Classic Space as stand alone themes. These tough little guys made their debut in 1984 and they seriously transformed role-play forever. The various clips can be used to connect this MOC to my Medieval Castle Keep MOC. Paying homage to the much-loved LEGO Castle franchise, the new Medieval Blacksmith set also brings back old Castle elements most notably, the return of two Black Falcon Knight minifigures. Starting June 1 in Europe and elsewhere, and August 1 in North America, it will be available from LEGO and other retailers. The Gate can be displayed as an individual build or can be combined with the Medieval Castle Keep MOC. 31120 Medieval Castle contains 1,500 pieces and three minifigures. ![]() The MOC is part 1 of a larger Medieval Castle. ![]() Finally there is a small cart that delivers new products to the Castle. The knights can practice with their newly bought swords at the practice dummy. A small medieval shop for food, drinks and weapons. Next to this big castle wall build, this MOC contains a few smaller builds. The gate can be released by raising the lever on the other side, but it might need a little help. Please open the gate click by click to make it run smoothly. This gate opens up using the wheel on the side. It can also be used as a balcony from the inside of the castle. The gate house has space for the gate to be pulled up. The right tower has a prison with a guard tower above. The left tower has an observation deck with a small house underneath. The towers can be opened in different ways (see images). This building has two towers with the gate house in the middle. This design can be build using only pieces from those two sets (including spare parts). ![]() The Medieval Castle Gate MOC is an alternate combining Lego set 31120 - Medieval Castle and set 21325 - Medieval Blacksmith.
